HOW
DO I... MAKE
AN APPOINTMENT ?
Appointments may be made by telephoning 0141 531 6010 or by calling
at the surgery. If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us
as soon as possible as this will assist in oversubscribed situations.
Patients are requested to phone after 8.30am for routine appointments
and enquiries. Same-day appointments are available, to be used for emergencies
only. HOW
DO I... OBTAIN
A HOME VISIT ?
Patients are requested to telephone before 10.00am if a visit is
required that day. Emergency visits only will be arranged after that
time. Please give the receptionist as much information as possible to
enable the doctor to allocate priority to house calls. Please remember
that several patients can be seen at the surgery in the time that it
takes to do a home visit. If you feel you need an immediate visit please
ask to speak to the doctor.
HOW
DO I... OBTAIN
TEST RESULTS ?
If a doctor or nurse has told you to telephone for the results
of any tests taken, please telephone our enquiry line on 0141 531 6010
between 3.00 and 4.00pm Monday to Friday only. Please allow at least
three working days before telephoning for the results of blood tests
and at least seven working days for x-ray results. It is important to
note that results can only be given to the patient themselves, unless
the patient is under 16 years. Therefore, staff are required to ask
for particular details to ensure results are given to the correct person.
In addition you may be asked to make an appointment or speak with the
doctor regarding the results of tests.
Results of cervical smears
are posted to our patients as soon as they are available. This can take
up to five weeks, so do not worry if you have not received your letter
before this time.
If you are looking for the result of any investigation
carried out at the hospital, please telephone 0141 531 6010. Sometimes,
it can take a few weeks before we receive letters from the hospital
updating us on patients' recent visits.
